My Review

You have a great deal of control over any photograph, including a macro setting. In either AP mode or Program mode, if you've been serious about photography, then once you get used to setting it up "digitally" as opposed to the mechanical cameras of yesterday, it can do almost anything apart from a fast 600mm telephoto lens. In "high speed" mode, it can take up to 50 frames per second or use the "time lapse" mode to cover hours or days. Metering is C/W, Matrix and Spot. Focusing is either single AF or continuous AF. The camera is only 5 megapixels but the lens is quite superb. I have enlarged pics up to A4, and it was difficult to tell if it was less than an 8 megapixel or more camera. And if you wish, you could start printing pictures at home before you have finished taking them all. A very good piece of kit for its year of manufacture, highly recommend this or anything similar from Nikon.

Camera "pros"

Very light due to plastic casing. Aperture can be controlled, therefore so can depth of field. Plenty of program and manual settings for most situations. Super fast when in "high speed" mode.

Camera "cons"

Setting up the wireless connection to my PC took forever but once done, there were no problems. Lens is "fidgety" to clean. Casing is too plastic-y for a £300 camera.

Thanks for the information -- that had to be one of the first WiFi cameras, so it's good to see the WiFi worked well, after a bit of work, anyway!
