It's recommended as an easy-to-use, all-around capable point and shoot digital camera for just about any and all photo ops ... at home, inside or outside, day or night, social gatherings, or vacations and travel. It even does well at shows and stage performances. This is based on about 3,500 pictures taken at all of the above situations over the past year and a half. Most shots were on fully automatic settings.
Camera "pros"
Leica 25mm wide angle to 12X optical zoom, face detection, Intelligent Auto mode, red eye reduction, compact enough to slip into a shirt pocket, good battery life, image stabilization to minimize blur from camera shake
Camera "cons"
None, other than limited manual settings control (which has not been a problem because the auto mode works so well!)
