Early 2011My Review
I own the Sony Alpha DSLR after upgrading from the A100. I find the camera easy to use. It takes excellent pictures. I don't use auto on any of my shots and with the manual mode options, it gives me a perfect shot every time. With 14MP of resolution, enlargements don't show any loss of pixels. Being able to shoot in RAW/JPEG at the same time has its advantages. Also the camera will take any Minolta lens, as well as Sony making it a good investment. I bought a flash for my Alpha but it would not fit the hot shoe, but an easy solution was to use a bracket. Overall, an excellent camera for the price. I am now going to upgrade to the 24MP model -- that will make 3 Sony DSLRs to my collection.
Camera "pros"
Good entry level camera, easy to use, picture quality is excellent, takes great night shots, I use a remote with tripod, never have a problem
Camera "cons"
Takes Memory Stick, not an SD card, many photo processors do not accept that format, but I print at home, so that's not a problem for me
