No, it was in pristine condition. The black bag was new, and the lenses were well cared for.

Where Exactly Was the Camera Found / Lost?
It was lost in a white taxi in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The taxi dropped us off at a hotel in Carolina. The driver removed our bags from taxi, but did not remove the camera bag which was on the seat or floor of the third row of the taxi (minivan).
The bag is relatively small with triangular shape and is black with an over the shoulder strap. One lens was on the camera and another lens was in the bag. A memory card of 8GB is in the camera (Compact Flash).
Lessons Learned
- Don't travel with so many items that you can't keep track of your most valuable ones.
- Don't leave the responsibility to someone else to remove your bags; do it yourself.
- If you really value something, better to leave it at home.
- A cheap point and shoot could have taken the pictures and fit in my purse. I'd still have my beloved camera as well as memories (photos) of my wonderful trip.
- I wound up replacing the camera and accessories but 8 months later, I still am upset about my loss.
