A gold Sony 8.1MP CyberShot camera was lost.

It had a silver carrying cord.

The camera was in a small black carrying case with the word "SONY" across the front and a little side pocket with a zipper.

No, but it does have an extra memory card in the black carrying case that it was in.

When Approximately Was the Camera Found / Lost?

The camera was lost on Wednesday, Sept. 15, between 6-7 p.m. (ET)

Where Exactly Was the Camera Found / Lost?

The camera was lost at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. We were walking near the WWII Memorial on 17th Avenue, along Independence Avenue, toward 14th Street.

The camera fell out of the cupholder of our red stroller as we were walking from the WWII Memorial. The camera was in a small, black carrying case.

The last few pictures were of our family at the WWII Memorial, near the fountain.

Lots of baby photos are on the memory cards, including lots of our baby's "firsts" and those are what we want back. Those are irreplaceable.

Lessons Learned

I've been experiencing lots of anxiety since we lost this camera, including a few sleepless nights!!! Here is what I've learned from this difficult life lesson:
  • ALWAYS download previous pictures taken!!!
  • Only carry one memory card at a time in a carrying case.
  • Never leave important stuff in the cupholder of a baby stroller (put it in a secure bag, such as the diaper bag).
  • Label the camera with contact information and, if possible, include contact information in the carrying case.

Sorry to hear about your camera -- I hope someone sees this and can return it to you. Also, you have listed some great tips that should be very helpful to someone else. Good luck!
