Where Exactly Was the Camera Found / Lost?
It was lost in the Dordogne River near Pinsac, France. The camera went down when the canoe capsized and floated gently out of sight in the only deep bit of river with really strong currents on this otherwise very gently and smooth section of river that is supposed to be very safe for people who are rubbish at boating like us.
There is a bridge over the river at Pinsac which we hit, causing us to capsize.
Lessons Learned
- Don't take a camera in a canoe
- Or, if you do, keep it in a waterproof container that will float
- Don't crash canoes into bridges
- Don't take shoes in a canoe or if you do tie them to you. Losing three pairs of shoes on holiday is a pain.
- Don't go canoeing with idiots like us.
- If you do a charity bike ride and have precious pictures on your camera, think very carefully about taking said camera into a boat with people like me!
