Describe a Favorite Photo Shot With That First Camera
I bought the camera for my first solo overseas trip to Europe and spent a year getting the hang of it before I travelled....I've taken a number of shots that I can classify as a favourite...one of Charles Bridge at night in Prague; Fisherman's Bastion in Budapest; empty sunset road in the Karoo.

Why, How, and When I Switched From Film to Digital
Always been a fan of photography and was one of the last of my circle to convert. The thought of a 6 week trip to Europe, where I could take a photo and delete and retake was very appealing, more so than coming home developing my film and being disappointed that I missed an amazing photo. So I switched finally in Nov. 2006 after looking for the perfect camera for me (for almost a year), the best optical zoom and megapixels, and still having a smallish camera.
Lessons Learned
- not as compact as other "point and shoot" cameras...can't really put it in a pocket and go clubbing or a walk along the beach - without advertising that you have a camera.
- I bought a DSLR not long ago with a 18-55mm lens...and I fell in love with my little point and shoot lumix again for the zoom capabilities.
