What Was the Weather Like? What Was the Lighting Like?
It was a beautiful cool, windy night at Rockefeller Center. Very crowded with people capturing the spirit of Christmas. This picture was taken on the Plaza by the Christmas tree. I noticed the beautiful flags blowing, the bluish lights illuminating the tree, and the usual lighting and reflection on the building. I got down on my knees and started shooting under the tree angling the camera/lens in different directions. I used a flash on the camera.
Advice
- I wouldn't have done anything different. I see something and begin to visualize how this would look in a still photo. I will try shooting in different angles until I get the right shot.
Why Is This One of Your Favorite Photos?
This is one of my favorite photos, kneeling on the ground at Rockefeller Plaza on Dec. 19, 2011. I captured the tips of the tree with the beautiful Christmas lights. I like how the lights illuminated the building, along with the flags blowing in the wind.
