What Was the Weather Like? What Was the Lighting Like?
It was a very overcast day with big, thick, moody, gray clouds. No flash was used. No special precautions were used. The shot was very spur of the moment. Basically, we saw a nasty part of an old house, thought it'd be rad to take a photo in front of it, and that was that.
Advice
- When composing this shot, I wish I would have zoomed out just a hair to leave room to adjust the tilt of the photo. That was the major post shot edit, to even up the horizon and adjust for a crooked camera.
Why Is This One of Your Favorite Photos?
The model and I were having a really, really bad day. We were so unamused, and she suggested taking a photo of her absolutely unhappy in front of this decrepit house. I happy obliged and created one of my favorite memories.
