What Was the Weather Like? What Was the Lighting Like?
It was a sunny day at that time, and I didn't use a flash.
I took it from the car, when I saw a local bride festival walking on the street to her groom's house. There are around 20 girls together with her.
The bride is still young, less than 20 years old.
This moment occurred during my five-day holiday to Lombok, a neighbor of Bali in the eastern part of Indonesia. It was in May 2010, which actually is still the rainy season in Lombok, but that afternoon the day was bright and only a little cloudy, so I didn't have to use flash.
During my stay at Lombok, I visited many places: The beach, waterfall, and hiking.
There is a famous and beautiful volcano called Rinjani Mountain, 3900m above the sea. Actually this was my main target for traveling to Lombok, but it requires five days to hike the mountain, and I couldn't make it, because of the heavy rain, and the authorities closed it to hiking. One day I will come back.
I went to a beautiful waterfall.
Advice
- I realized that I have to bring the camera any time I go out, as you never know when you'll encounter a special moment like this.

I set it to Auto mode, because I was in a hurried situation, shooting from the car. I have taken several shots of this moment, but this was the good one, I think.
What Type of Planning Was Needed to Set Up This Photo?
None, due to being in a hurry or I would have missed the moment, as they were walking on the street on the way to the groom's house to send some valuable gift.
In their tradition, when a couple is married, the women's side has to give presents to the man's side.
Why Is This One of Your Favorite Photos?
It was a rare moment to see this situation at Lombok, an island neighbor of Bali.
