What Type of Camera and/or Lenses Did You Use?

Nikon L100

What Was the Weather Like? What Was the Lighting Like?

It was a nice warm, sunny, breezy summer day in early September. This picture was taken outdoors in a sunflower field, outside of my grandparents house, on their 38 acres of land. The lighting condtions were great, the sun was out, it was bright and not too hazy, like the summer days here in western New York usually are.

Advice

  • I actually wish I hadn't done anything different, as I love the way it turned out. I love the setting on my camera, it's nothing like the other cameras I've ever had. My tips would be to take your time, study what you're about to capture, look at the angles and colors, make sure the lighting is right, and make sure your backlight isn't ruining your shot.

If You Remember, What Were the Camera's Settings?

What Type of Planning Was Needed to Set Up This Photo?

Not much, really, it was a last-minute idea.

Why Is This One of Your Favorite Photos?

I love summer and sunflowers, and my family was there. :)

What Did You Learn About Photography With This Photo?

That, as long as I take my time, I can make anything look good.
