The sun sets on a chilly autumn night in a Detroit suburb ...

What Type of Camera and/or Lenses Did You Use?

I used my Nikon D-60 with a F2.8 200mm telephoto lens

What Was the Weather Like? What Was the Lighting Like?

It was a cloudy day for the most part, with just a hole in the clouds as the sun set. The lighting on the ground was horrible, but as I turned the camera to the sky, enough light was available to see the clouds, but it cast shadows over the rest of the picture

Advice

  • If I knew I was going to take this picture, I would have used a monopod.

If You Remember, What Were the Camera's Settings?

I had the camera at F3.5 with a shutter speed of 1/160. The WB was set for a cloudy day, and the ISO was at 800, I believe

What Type of Planning Was Needed to Set Up This Photo?

Absolutley none. I simply liked the look of the sky and took the picture.

Why Is This One of Your Favorite Photos?

I like this picture because it captures several of the colors of a sunset, and because of the dark shadows cast across the sky by the clouds.
