What Was the Weather Like? What Was the Lighting Like?
It was freezing! It was the morning after a huge accumulating snow. I wandered out into my backyard. I had taken a bunch of other pictures. On my way back to the house, the sun was coming out from behind the clouds. I found this scene. I tried multiple angles and the natural light cooperated well. The effect I was trying to portray practically jumped into my hands. Without much effort, I was able to capture this landscape. It turned out really well. It was a great way to end my excursion that day.
Advice
- Dress really warm and be prepared to get cold! Insulate your tripod with a blanket, it's easier to work with a warm tripod. Keep you eyes open and try different angles. Don't rush to give snow it's natural white color, lower the white balance to highlight other aspects of the photo.
