"Winter in the Woods"

What Type of Camera and/or Lenses Did You Use?

I used a Nikon D90. I shot it at F11, 1/500, and ISO 250. I used an 18-270 Tamron lens at 46mm.

What Was the Weather Like? What Was the Lighting Like?

The weather was crisp, and the sun was in and out. I used a low ISO and also used a tripod. I shot it on aperture priority and, because the sun was in and out, the shutter speed kept changing, so the tripod was necessary for a clear shot, because I wanted to get a decent depth of field.

Advice

  • I could have used a lower ISO with this photo.

If You Remember, What Were the Camera's Settings?

I shoot in RAW, so I went back to the bridge, and the exact settings were F11, 1/500, ISO 250, and 18-270 @ 46mm.

What Type of Planning Was Needed to Set Up This Photo?

A walk through the woods with my camera ready to go.

Why Is This One of Your Favorite Photos?

It's cool and crisp, with a hint of the beautiful blue sky.
