Have you ever experienced problems with having a company honor a manufacturer's warranty or an extended warranty, either for a camera or another type of product? Tell your stories here! Tell Your Story

Nikon Total Nonsense

Nikon told me that the damaged item is not covered by warranty. But, if a camera can only last for 6 months, what warranty is that? Never ever buy Nikon's products at all. Nikon should just shut down and not cheat the customers again.

Canon: No worries warranty...

In December of 2004, my wife and I bought 2 units of Canon Powershot A95s. We use the 2 cameras to document our travels and underwater adventures. During a trip to the Gold Coast in Australia in July of 2007 one of the units manifested what appeared to be an LCD display irregularity. Upon returning to the Philippines, I bought the camera to the local Canon service center. The Service technician said that the irregularity will be replaced free of charge despite the unit being out of warranty... the unit was repaired as new within 2 weeks and the unit is still working well. Fast forward to February 2009, the 2nd unit started showing the same problem in Sydney. I bought the unit to the recommended Sydney service center. again the service technician evaluated the problem as similar to the the first unit and they had the problem fixed in a weeks time despite the unit being out of warranty for close to 5 years. All said, we're very happy with Canon's international service!
