When it comes to stylish-looking, ultra-compact digital cameras, Panasonic has found a popular formula with its Lumix brand of cameras.
The company hopes its next Lumix model, the DMC-FP8, will continue to follow the winning formula when it is available for purchase for about $300 in September.
The Lumix DMC-FP8, which will be available in three colors (red, black, and silver), will carry 12.1 megapixels of resolution, some wide angle capabilities in its 4.6X optical zoom lens, and a 2.7-inch LCD.
Most impressively, though, Panasonic has focused on a new image stabilization technology, called Power O.I.S., that it claims will double the camera's image stabilization capabilities. Such a change should allow the DMC-FP8 to excel in low light conditions.
