Digital cameras from Kodak, Samsung, and Sony were among the top 10 consumer products purchased on "Cyber Monday," according statistics from a credit card processing company.
The company, Retail Decisions, did not list specific models of cameras that were the most popular. However, Retail Decisions said that Kodak's cameras were second in popularity in Cyber Monday sales, behind a GPS navigation system from TomTom. Sony's digital cameras ranked fifth, while Samsung's cameras were 10th.
Cyber Monday refers to one of the busiest days for holiday sales from Internet retailers, which is the Monday after Thanksgiving. Retail Decisions estimated U.S. online sales on Cyber Monday 2009 were $2.2 billion, a 35% increase from 2008.
For comparison, Retail Decisions says Black Friday's U.S. online sales -- the Friday after Thanksgiving -- reached a record $3.1 billion this year, a 52% increase from 2008.
