Olympus announced six new point and shoot cameras at CES 2010, providing a variety of features that should appeal to beginning and intermediate photographers.
The six new Olympus cameras include:
FE 4020. You'll find 14 megapixels of resolution and a 4X optical zoom lens with limited wide angle capabilities in the FE 4020 (pictured here, $149.99 MSRP).
FE 47. The entry-level FE 47 ($119.99 MSRP) can operate from two AA batteries. It features a 5X optical zoom lens and 14 megapixels of resolution.
Stylus 5010. The Stylus 5010 ($199.99 MSRP), along with the 7030 and 7040, feature a new menu interface structure and photo organizing software, all designed to make the new Stylus cameras easier to use.
Stylus 7030. Look for a 7X optical zoom lens and 14 megapixels of resolution in the Stylus 7030 ($199.99 MSRP).
Stylus 7040. With the 7040 ($249.99 MSRP), you can shoot 720p HD video. The 7040 also carries a 7X optical zoom lens and 14 megapixels of resolution.
Stylus Tough 3000. The Stylus Tough 3000 ($229.99 MSRP) is designed for operation in harsh environments, thanks to its waterproof camera body and ability to operate in temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit.
The FE-47 will be available later this month, while the other cameras should be on sale in February. I'll have additional details on each of these cameras in the next few weeks in my blog.
