Pentax today has released three new cameras, including a new DSLR model, the K-r. Here is a little information on each of the new models.
- K-r DSLR. Look for the K-r (MSRP $799.95, pictured here) to emphasize speed, thanks in part to its ability to shoot 6 frames per second or at a maximum shutter speed of 1/6000th of a second.
- Optio RS1000. With this camera, Pentax is offering 11 different "skins" that allow you to customize the look of the camera. You also can make your own "skins" with the RS1000 (MSRP $149.95).
- Optio RZ10. The RZ10 (MSRP $219.95) features a 10X optical zoom lens and dual "shake reduction" technology.
I will have additional details on each of the new models in individual blog posts over the next several weeks. All three cameras should be available for sale in October. These new models join other Pentax cameras announced in January and in February of 2010.
