Definition: A DIL camera, short for Digital Interchangeable Lens camera, is an advanced digital camera that makes use of interchangeable lenses, just like a DSLR camera, but the DIL camera is a mirror-less design.
Because of the mirror-less design, a DIL camera is not a DSLR camera. A DIL camera typically is thinner and more compact than a DSLR camera.
Some people call DIL cameras by a different name: Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens (EVIL) cameras. Essentially DIL and EVIL refer to the same type of camera.
