What Type of Camera and/or Lenses Did You Use?

Canon S5IS, point and shoot

What Was the Weather Like? What Was the Lighting Like?

We had some rain the week before Christams.

Christmas day was one gorgeous sunny day around 70 degrees. There were very few clouds in the sky. The light was so wonderful I used 1/1250 sec for the sun shot. I shot the snow shoes in open shade, so there was plenty of light, but had to move down to 1/50 sec.

  • I think that as impromptu as this photo was, I did all I could to make it a little fun! Tips: Look for the obvious things you like the best about your surroundings!

The best I could do for snow was some baking soda!

Why Is This One of Your Favorite Photos?

I live in paradise and so greatful for it. I love the seasons, but I love the warmth during the winter here. I feel for others who have had to brave such difficult weather!

What Did You Learn About Photography With This Photo?

To my surprise, I think that baking soda looks a bit like snow! First time I have ever tried to fake snow!
